A disturbing scene unfolded at a local public park this week when officers arrested a suspected child predator after witnesses reported his alarming behavior near a playground.
According to police, several parents noticed the man acting suspiciously around a group of children, repeatedly approaching them and attempting to lure one of them away from the main play area. Concerned adults immediately contacted authorities while keeping a close eye on the situation.
Bodycam footage shows officers arriving within minutes. As they approached, the suspect allegedly tried to walk off with a young child who appeared visibly uncomfortable. That’s when officers intervened, detaining the man on the spot.
Parents at the park can be heard yelling in shock and anger as police pulled the child to safety. One witness said the suspect had been “circling the playground for nearly an hour” before the attempted contact.
The man was taken into custody without further incident and now faces multiple charges related to attempted child abduction and unlawful contact with a minor. Police say they are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby areas to determine if he may be involved in other incidents.
