Officer Arrested by Fellow Cops at Police Station after Suspected Intoxication
A shocking incident unfolded inside a local police station when an on-duty officer was arrested by his own colleagues after showing signs of severe intoxication while reporting for shift.
According to officials, the veteran officer arrived at the station appearing unsteady, slurring his words, and behaving erratically. Supervisors immediately became concerned and attempted to conduct a welfare check. Instead of cooperating, the officer reportedly became confrontational, insisting he was “fine” and refusing multiple commands.
Bodycam footage from responding officers shows the tense moment when coworkers were forced to treat one of their own like any other suspect. After several warnings, officers moved in and detained him inside the station lobby. The officer can be heard arguing and stumbling as handcuffs are placed on him.
Investigators say the officer was transported to a nearby facility for a formal intoxication evaluation. Preliminary findings indicate he was likely under the influence of alcohol while preparing to go on duty — a serious violation that triggered immediate suspension.
Police leadership emphasized that no one is above the law, including their own. “It’s unfortunate, but professionalism and public trust come first,” the department said in a statement.
The officer now faces potential DUI-related charges, internal disciplinary action, and possible termination pending the results of the investigation.
