8 children arrested after refusing to leave McDonald’s, crowding police

A chaotic scene unfolded at a McDonald’s restaurant after eight children were taken into custody for refusing to leave the property and surrounding officers who were trying to clear the area, police say.

The incident began when employees called 911 to report a large group of juveniles causing a disturbance inside the restaurant. Staff said the kids were yelling, throwing food, and refusing to leave despite repeated requests.

When officers arrived, the situation escalated quickly.

Bodycam footage shows the children crowding around police, shouting over each other, and blocking officers from moving through the restaurant. Officers repeatedly told them to step back and exit the building, but several refused and continued to interfere.

One juvenile tried to push past an officer, while others filmed themselves taunting police.

After multiple warnings, officers began detaining the most disruptive individuals. The remaining kids continued resisting, leading to a total of eight arrests for charges including disorderly conduct, trespassing, and obstruction.

Parents were notified and required to pick up their children from the station.

McDonald’s employees say the group had been inside for more than an hour, disturbing customers and refusing to buy anything or leave.

Police emphasized that businesses have the right to remove disruptive individuals and that interfering with officers—no matter your age—can result in arrest.
