Man Busted for Pretending to Be Officer at Crime Scenes: Real Cops

According to investigators, the suspect had been showing up at active crime scenes, flashing fake credentials, and attempting to insert himself into investigations. Witnesses said he confidently gave orders to bystanders and even tried questioning victims before actual officers intervened.

When deputies confronted him, his story quickly fell apart. The “badge” turned out to be a knockoff purchased online, and the uniform was nothing more than surplus gear. The suspect was taken into custody and now faces charges of impersonating a police officer and obstructing an investigation.
