A shocking police chase unfolded across several Florida counties after a mother—accused of committing a deadly crime—attempted to flee with her two young children in the car.
According to investigators, the incident began when officers responded to a homicide call at a suburban home. Witnesses told police the suspect, a 32-year-old mother, fled the scene minutes before officers arrived, loading her kids into an SUV and speeding away.
An alert was immediately issued, and multiple agencies joined the search.
Dashcam and bodycam footage show officers attempting to pull the vehicle over on a rural highway. Instead of stopping, the woman accelerated—reaching dangerous speeds as her children could be seen crying in the back seat. Officers backed off briefly due to the risk to the kids, but aerial units kept eyes on the SUV as it weaved through traffic.
At one point, the suspect barreled through a red light, clipped another vehicle, and continued driving with sparks flying from the damaged front end. Officers later said her driving was “reckless, desperate, and completely disconnected from reality.”

The chase finally came to an end when deputies deployed spike strips, disabling the SUV. Bodycam footage shows officers rushing to the vehicle, pulling the frightened children to safety while the suspect continued resisting and shouting incoherently.
She was eventually taken into custody without further injury.
The children, unharmed but visibly shaken, were placed in protective care as investigators pieced together the events leading up to the homicide.
Sheriff’s officials say the quick coordination between agencies prevented what could have turned into a far more tragic situation. The mother now faces a long list of charges, including murder, fleeing law enforcement, child endangerment, and reckless driving.
