4th Grade Teacher Arrested in Predator Sting
A 4th grade teacher is behind bars after being caught in an undercover predator sting, according to authorities. Investigators with the Internet Crimes Task Force say the suspect believed he was talking to a minor when he arranged a meeting at a local park.
Instead, he was met by undercover officers.
Police say the teacher had engaged in explicit conversations online and arrived at the meeting spot with items investigators described as “clear evidence of intent.” He was taken into custody on the scene without incident.
School officials confirmed the teacher has been placed on immediate leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Parents were notified late last night, prompting outrage and concern throughout the district.
Detectives say additional charges may be filed as they review digital evidence and communications.
The case remains under investigation.
